What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller a Regional Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial processes. The role involves supervising the accounting team, managing month-end and year-end closing processes, producing financial statements, and supporting strategic decision-making with actionable financial insights. The Financial Controller will work closely with senior leadership and other business units to ensure that financial strategies are aligned with the overall business goals.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial management, financial reporting, and compliance.

List of key responsibilities include:

• Oversee the preparation and consolidation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Review financial reports to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow statements, and other reports.
• Lead the preparation of year-end financial statements for audit, ensuring all necessary documentation and explanations are provided.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all general ledger entries are accurate and timely.
• Supervise the accounts payable and receivable teams to ensure all transactions are recorded, reconciled, and processed efficiently.
• Ensure the accurate and timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and the resolution of any discrepancies.
• Develop and implement effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads, ensuring that financial plans align with business objectives.
• Develop financial forecasts and variances analysis to track performance against the budget, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Analyze financial performance, identifying trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT, sales tax, and other statutory returns.
• Provide guidance and training to junior accountants and other finance staff, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to succeed.
• Supporting in group related projects.

Who we’re looking for

• A Chartered Accountant with 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Significant experience in preparing financial statements, managing audits, and overseeing accounting operations.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and provide clear financial guidance to non-finance stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English
